Putting people first

The Business Development Analyst exemplifies a set of diverse and complex professional and administrative skills to gain an in-depth understanding of business strategy, services, and operations to address business challenges and document capabilities of potential M&A or real estate targets.

Key activities of the position will include assisting in the evaluation of acquisition targets and real estate opportunities, preparing due diligence materials, and preparation of financial projections and key investment metrics. Provide assistance to source and qualify leads, conduct market research, coordinate, and direct communication between CityVet and potential targets, and complete due diligence and develop action plans for potential M&A targets.

This position will report directly to the Chief Development Officer and will have routine interaction with  the CEO and CFO of CityVet as well as our private equity partners.

 Essential qualifications:

  • Proficiency and comfort in modeling a variety of financial models using Excel
  • Experience in preparing opportunity assessments for leadership’s consideration
  • BS/BA in Accounting or Finance or other related field
  • 2-5 years of experience in finance or business background related to transaction execution in corporate development or investment banking

 A day in the life:

  • Prepare financial, qualitative and valuation analyses, including: forecasts, cash flows, financial models, EBITDA adjustments, identifying deal risks, and other requested financial analyses related to acquisition activities
  • Prepare financial and market analyses of specific geographic areas to determine attractiveness of growth opportunities and potential targets
  • Organize and maintain acquisition pipeline and dashboards that provide key insights on practice performance
  • Manage data rooms and the distribution of information to all relevant transaction participants
  • Assist with ad hoc pre- and post-close M&A and real estate activities, which may include post-merger integration
  • Monitor competitive landscape and market developments to develop view on key industry activities and overall market trends
  • Create consistent and concise presentations for leadership teams and other stakeholders; provide analysis and recommendations to assist with strategic decision making
  • Drive process improvement, internally and externally, within the development department
