The Associate Veterinarian (DVM) partners with the Lead/Local Partner Veterinarian, Veterinary Technicians and Animal Care Attendants to provide quality and ethical medical care and treatment to all clients and their pets, working to build lasting relationships and referrals while acting as a client brand ambassador through client education, communication, and presentation of high-quality and cost-effective pet care. Th e Associate Veterinarian is an important member of the practice team and plays a key role in ensuring a positive working environment that supports the achievement of the Center’s goals.

Essential qualifications:

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs to waist height
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine license in practicing state
  • Frequent standing, bending, walking, lifting, carrying, and reaching

A day in the life:

  • Complete, in a timely and accurate manner, all scheduled appointments, drop-off appointments, walk-in appointments, surgeries, treat and address wounds, dental surgeries, including monitoring the administration of anesthesia with the help of the Veterinary Technician team for all assigned patients.
  • Aid in the admission and discharge of patients by communicating with clients through client education, both written and verbal, on all topics related to pet care, including but not limited to: proper wound care, wellness protocols, illness, medication dosages and use, and expectations following surgery.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in performing all common diagnostic procedures such as: radiographs, ultrasound, clinical pathology, and physical exam.
