Dr. Matt Murphy has proudly cared for the Uptown community for more than 20 years as Lead Veterinarian Partner at CityVet | Uptown. With nearly three decades of experience, he has earned the trust of generations of pet families through compassionate, personalized veterinary care for dogs, cats, and exotic pets. Dr. Murphy believes every pet deserves individualized care, and every family deserves to feel heard, informed, and supported. His commitment extends beyond the exam room through community partnerships, including educating pet parents about summer safety along the Katy Trail in Dallas and supporting local outreach through his church. Known for his upbeat, welcoming approach, Dr. Murphy has built a veterinary practice where pets and people alike feel at ease and cared for.

And Ray is THE BEST! He’s very calm and caring and super friendly. I always feel safe knowing he’s there looking after my puppy!
Sadly, we moved out of state a few years ago. However, I still recommend this location to friends and family in the Dallas area.
Dr. Murphy is amazing!!! Super smart, empathetic, accessible after hours, and truly cares about your pet as if it were his own. My dog loved him and he is still considered our favorite vet.
Cassy is truly the heart of the practice. Her compassion for animals is genuine and unmistakable. She doesn’t just know the pets who come through the clinic—she remembers them, follows up on them, and sincerely cares about their health and happiness.
Years ago, Cassy helped me navigate treatment options for my sweet boy, Foster’s hip dysplasia including laser therapy that significantly improved his comfort and mobility. She was always patient, encouraging, and willing to answer questions. Her knowledge and dedication made a difficult situation much easier to manage.
Today, Cassy continues to provide that same exceptional level of care for my puppy, Hudson. Whether it’s helping coordinate appointments, answering concerns, or simply checking on how he is doing.
I am also deeply grateful to Cassy and Dr. Coville for helping me manage Hudson’s sensitive stomach and Shar-Pei Fever. Anyone dealing with a chronic condition in their pet knows how stressful and emotional it can be. Dr.Coville’s thoroughness is unmatched and Hudson absolutely adores her. He loves going to City Vet.
