*** updated review April 4, 2023 we’ve now been coming to CityVet for 4 years and 2 months, it still amazes me on how awesome this place is! Everyone who works there truly does an amazing job. We’ve had to put our furbaby Hulky Boy to sleep in February and let me tell you … there aren’t words to even begin to express our gratitude for all our extended Family over at CityVet -Mid-Cities for your compassion, attentiveness your ability to accommodate us all during this time and the part that touched our hearts the most was the hand written card that you all so thoughtfully took time to stop what y’all were doing to let us know how much y’all loved Hulky too! So thank you from the bottom of our hearts for that, cause Hulky was a huge part of our lives and is greatly missed. 🫶🏾🫶🏾🌈🦮
I’ve been coming to CityVet mid cities since I moved here last February 2019 and from the first time we visited we’ve had nothing but good experiences the vets, techs, groomers, receptionist, everyone that you come into contact with is very pleasant, friendly and very helpful they also love the furbabies which is the greatest part! I love this place and always refer everyone here! If you’re looking for a great vet that truly cares for your furbabies as much as You do this is the place!! Thank you CityVet for loving Chandler, Hulky and LAni Gurl, Mana
My only complaint is that they are too expensive. One office visit with xray was $450.00. There is no way an xray should cost that much.
Did you know?!
Their eyes are built for spotting movement at a distance, leaving a blind spot at chin level — which is why a cat will paw around for a treat sitting directly in front of it.

What’s it really like to work at CityVet? Ask a Practice Manager who almost left veterinary medicine.
Clinton was ready to walk away from the field. Then a role at CityVet opened up — and it lined up with the values he already had.
Veterinary professionals — DVMs, techs, assistants, client care, practice managers — this is your kind of culture.

Why does my dog nibble on me?
Short answer: it`s usually communication, not aggression. That gentle "corn cobbing" with the front teeth almost always means one of four things:
– Affection: social grooming, the same way dogs groom packmates to bond
– Play: mouthing your hand is an invitation, not a bite
– Teething: puppies under ~7 months chew to soothe sore gums
– Bite inhibition: they`re learning how much pressure is okay
When to pay closer attention: a stiff body and hard stare, a low growl or snarl, or pressure that actually hurts. Those are stress signals, not play.
The fix for nuisance nibbling is redirection — the second you feel teeth, trade your hand for a chew toy. It teaches what to do instead of just saying no.

Why do cats chirp?
Cats chirp — also called chattering or chittering — as a short, high-pitched burst of sound triggered by focused excitement, usually when they spot prey like a bird outside the window.
What cat chirping usually means:
– Excitement or frustration while watching prey they can`t reach
– A possible attempt to mimic bird calls as a hunting strategy
– Friendly greeting or attention-seeking toward you
– Play mode — many cats chirp mid-pounce at a toy
Is it normal? Yes. Chirping is a healthy part of a cat`s vocal range, and kittens do it too. But if the chirping is persistent and paired with stress signals or other behavior changes, it`s worth a vet visit.
Best way to respond: give them something to hunt — a prey-like toy, dedicated play time, and a window with a good view.

They have some sweat glands in their paw pads, but panting does the heavy lifting.

Dogs sleep a lot—but how much sleep is actually normal?
The answer depends on their age, breed, activity level, and overall health. While puppies and senior dogs often need more rest, a sudden increase in sleep or changes in your dog`s energy could be a sign that something isn`t right.
Knowing the difference between normal napping and a potential health concern can help you catch problems early and keep your pup feeling their best.
