Two more puppies just earned their vaccine diploma! 🎉
Graduating from the puppy vaccine series is a big milestone—it means your pup has built important protection against serious diseases like parvo and distemper and is ready to take on more adventures safely.

🎆 The 4th of July is one of the busiest—and scariest—times of the year for our furry friends.
While we look forward to fireworks, many pets experience overwhelming fear and anxiety. Every year, thousands of dogs and cats panic, escape their homes or yards, and become lost because of the loud noises.
If your pet has shown signs of fear during past fireworks, don`t wait until the last minute. Call us now to discuss whether a calming medication or sedative is appropriate for your pet. These medications work best when you have them before the celebrations begin—and many are even more effective when given before your pet becomes anxious.
A few extra reminders:
🐾 Make sure your pet`s ID tags and microchip information are up to date.
🏡 Keep pets safely indoors during fireworks.
🎵 Create a quiet, comfortable space with white noise or calming music.
💙 Never assume your pet "will be fine" if they`ve struggled before.
Let`s help make this Independence Day a little less stressful for the ones who don`t understand the celebration. Call us today if you`d like to discuss the best anxiety plan for your pet! 🇺🇸

🚨 PARVO ALERT 🚨
We’ve recently seen several cases of parvovirus, and we want to remind pet owners to stay vigilant.
Parvo is a highly contagious virus that can be devastating—especially for puppies and unvaccinated dogs. The virus can live in the environment for months and is spread through contaminated surfaces, soil, and even on shoes and clothing.
If your puppy is not fully vaccinated:
🐾 Avoid dog parks and high-traffic pet areas
🐾 Keep vaccines on schedule
🐾 Watch for signs like vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, and loss of appetite
We’re sharing this not to create fear, but to create awareness. Early prevention and prompt treatment can make all the difference.
If your puppy is due for vaccines or showing any concerning symptoms, please give us a call. Let’s work together to keep our community’s pets safe. ❤️

🎆 Don’t wait until the fireworks start. 🎆
If your pet struggles with loud noises, anxiety, pacing, hiding, trembling, or trying to escape during fireworks, now is the time to prepare.
The week of July 4th is one of the busiest times of the year for anxious pets, and medications like trazodone work best when you have them ready before the holiday arrives.
🐾 Call us now if your pet has needed anxiety medication in the past
🐾 Make sure you have enough medication for the entire holiday weekend
🐾 Consider a “test dose” before the big night so you know how your pet responds
A little planning can make a huge difference in keeping your pet safe, comfortable, and stress-free this Independence Day. ❤️💙
📞 Give us a call to discuss whether trazodone or other anxiety relief options are right for your pet.

🐾 Moments That Matter: The Power of a Bath 🛁✨
Sometimes one of the most effective tools for managing allergies isn`t a pill—it`s a bath.
For pets struggling with allergies, regular medicated shampoo baths can help remove pollen, dust, environmental allergens, bacteria, and yeast from the skin and coat. These baths can soothe itching, reduce inflammation, improve skin health, and even decrease the need for medications in some cases.
Think of it this way: if you rolled around outside all day during allergy season, you`d probably want a shower before bed too!
At CityVet Queen Creek, we`re here to help keep your pet comfortable. Whether your furry friend needs a veterinarian-recommended medicated bath as part of their allergy treatment plan or just a basic bath to freshen up and wash away everyday dirt and allergens, we`ve got you covered.
✨ A clean coat isn`t just about looking good—it`s about feeling good, too.
If your pet is scratching, licking, chewing at their paws, or dealing with recurrent skin issues, let`s talk about whether medicated baths could be part of the solution.

🚨 Weekly WAG: Parvo Isn’t Just a Puppy Problem 🚨
Parvovirus is one of the most serious and preventable diseases we see in dogs. It attacks the gastrointestinal tract, causing severe vomiting, diarrhea (often bloody), dehydration, and can quickly become life-threatening.
🐾 How dogs get it:
Parvo spreads through infected feces and can survive in the environment for months, making parks, sidewalks, pet stores, and even your own backyard potential sources of exposure.
🐾 Signs to watch for:
• Lethargy
• Loss of appetite
• Vomiting
• Diarrhea
• Fever
• Dehydration
🐾 The good news:
Vaccination is highly effective at preventing parvo. Puppies are especially vulnerable until they complete their vaccine series, which is why sticking to their vaccine schedule is so important.
At CityVet Queen Creek, we’d much rather prevent parvo than treat it. Prevention is safer, easier, and far less expensive than hospitalization for a critically ill puppy.
Have questions about your puppy’s vaccine schedule? Give us a call—we’re happy to help! ❤️🐶
