These boots were definitely made for walking… and protecting those precious paws! 🐾👢
While the funny boot walk never gets old, dog shoes can serve an important purpose—especially during the hot summer months. Pavement can heat up much faster than the air temperature, putting your pup’s paw pads at risk for burns and discomfort.
Whether it’s booties, early morning walks, or sticking to grassy areas, a little extra protection can go a long way in keeping your furry friend safe and comfortable.
Now excuse us while we watch this adorable strut on repeat. 😍🐶

Hot summer sidewalks can burn sensitive paws in seconds ☀️🐾
As temperatures rise, pavement and asphalt can become dangerously hot for dogs — even when the air temperature feels manageable to us. A quick walk at the wrong time of day can lead to painful burns, irritation, and discomfort.
If your dog’s paws ever look irritated, cool them with water and contact your veterinarian if you notice blistering, peeling, bleeding, or limping.
A little prevention goes a long way in keeping tails wagging safely all summer long 💛🐶

What sets this office apart is their honesty and transparency. They clearly explain the essential treatment my dog truly needs, while also offering additional options that could help keep her more comfortable. I never feel pressured into unnecessary services or medications.
I also greatly appreciate that they provide a clear range of expected costs upfront, which helps avoid surprises and allows me to make informed decisions. They work with me to focus on what is most important for my dog’s health while still keeping care affordable.
Another huge plus is their availability. Whenever I call, they are usually able to see my dog within 24 hours, which has been incredibly helpful with my schedule and during stressful situations.
Overall, this office provides compassionate, practical, and affordable care. The veterinarian is genuinely kind, and I always leave feeling confident that my dog received excellent treatment.

CityVet is amazing. First they found a way to help us get my dog, Evi, inside. (She also has neurological issues.) We were able to get in right away, no appointment needed during their urgent care hours on Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday. Everyone was professional, efficient, kind, and generally amazing.
Evi is afraid of walking on hard surfaces, so they had a stretcher ready. Evi is very shy, so Dr. Turner sat on the floor with Evi to do the exam. Dr. T was patient and so sweet with my doggie, and, beyond how to help with allergies, we also talked about nutrition, the clinic’s ability to provide acupuncture (which Evi needs) and lots more.
CityVet’s pricing was incredibly reasonable, especially for “walk-in at the last minute” appointment. Overall, it was just the most wonderful, encouraging experience.
I now have a plan to help Evi have a healthier, better path in her doggy life. You couldn’t find a more perfect place for your pets.
(I want to apologize for not including all the names of all the kind, amazing people who helped Evi ,and me, today.)

My dog had a series of unfortunate injuries earlier this year, but amidst the panic, I felt so supported by the staff here. We were referred to a great ophthalmologist by Dr. Trostel, and I even ended up having him medically boarded at the CityVet in Phillips Creek soon after. We wouldn’t have been able to get through those rough few weeks without their services and compassion.
Thank you for making a place that’s scary for most pets a safe space for my baby. We’ll continue coming back because no one takes care of us as well as CityVet Frisco!
Each of my cats have had two surgeries here (including spaying and neutering). The staff kept me updated on the procedures, after care, medications, follow up visits, etc.
One of my cats is sweet as can be and cooperates great (Bonnie). The other (Clyde), is very dramatic and very vocal with his displeasure of being away from home. He’s had to come in for a lot (neuter, UTI, anxiety/aggression, bloodwork, rectum issues, swallowed a hair tie), and I fully trust their expertise here. Dr. Fowler and all the vet techs I’ve interacted with always go above and beyond for making me, and the cats, feel comfortable and receive the best care possible. They always answer all of the questions I have and give me several options for how to proceed – being mindful of both care for the cats and financially.
Also a HUGE shoutout to Liz at the front!!! Clyde and I were previously frequent visitors for appointments, and buying food, and Liz always recognized us. Thank you for being such a friendly face and such a great help when I needed to schedule so many appointments!!
Thank you to everyone who’s treated my babies from this location – you have all been a joy, and always make me feel validated since these really are my kids right now!
Clyde enjoyed playing doctor in your chair, and trying to watch other patients pass by at today’s visit 🙂 see y’all next time!
Both of our cats started behaving abnormally — aggressive, out of character, and vomiting repeatedly. As any pet owner knows, that combination is alarming. You don’t know if it’s urgent, serious, or somewhere in between. You just know something is wrong and you need someone who can help you figure it out.
The vet and tech were exceptional — not just with the cats, but with us. That distinction matters more than it sounds. When your animals are sick and you don’t have answers, the anxiety is real. They met that anxiety with patience, clarity, and genuine understanding. We never felt rushed, dismissed, or like we were overreacting.
What stood out most was how they handled the conversation around next steps. They didn’t present one path and expect us to follow it. They walked us through multiple routes — factoring in both the emotional weight of the situation and the financial realities of pet care. That kind of transparency is uncommon and deeply appreciated. It felt like a partnership, not a prescription.
They were solution oriented in every sense. Not just for the cats — for us as a family navigating it with them.
We left with a clear plan, a dietary solution, and something harder to quantify — peace of mind. Our cats are doing better. And we know exactly where we’re going next time something comes up.
If you have pets in Frisco and haven’t found a vet you fully trust yet — this is worth your time.
