If I could give 10 stars I would. All four of the lovely women I spoke with were so friendly, nice, welcoming, and knowledgeable! My dog is a little spicy and everyone was very understanding and helpful. The groomers were amazing and did a wonderful job, they were able to help me when my vet own couldn’t trim my dogs nails! Couldn’t recommend this place enough!

My 13lb chiweenie’s favorite daycare in Dallas is this one. The staff are consistently amazing & greet him by name. I have a crazy work schedule at times, and their hrs make it possible for me to go in guilt free… knowing that my pup has been loved on all day. I have also used their grooming service, and he came back fresh with a little bandana & perfect nail trim.

These guys are the best. Smart, professional, and deeply caring. Our foster dog faced multiple surgeries and they walked us through every step. More importantly, they genuinely loved and cared for our foster dog, Knox. As scary as those months were for everyone, Knox always thrilled at seeing their doctors and staff. I highly recommend this vet practice.

We have been going to CityVet for over 10 years for our animals. Before we found them, we always had a hard time finding thorough, caring and honest vets. We are beyond grateful we crossed paths with CityVet White Rock. All the doctors are amazing and truly care for animals. We recently had to put our 15 year old German shepherd to sleep and Dr. Wallace ,plus all other employees, were so compassionate and understanding. They took their time with us, helped to reassure we were doing the right thing and Liz even sent a beautiful card signed by all staff with our pup’s paw print. So grateful we have that. The manager, Abby, was very responsive and sweet when helping us set up the appointment. I’ve never experienced a vet office with this much efficient communication and such high level of care! Thank you for all the years of taking care of our pets!!

I have had my pups here at City Vet Uptown for a couple years now and I am very pleased. Dr. Rech takes good care of the pups and is very thorough in explaining everything. I have unfortunately had to put a dog down here at this office and while it was the worst day of my life, they made it as comfortable and easy as possible. I love CityVet Uptown! I’ve been taking my dog Joey there since we moved to Dallas in 2022. Now my dog Chandler also goes there. The girls love going to day play. They also get groomed at Ruffit and they always do a great job. The doctors and staff are so caring and attentive. Dr. Rech has been seeing the girls recently and he has been great to deal with. He was happy to answer all my questions and concerns.

This is not my regular CityVet location but I needed to leave 5 stars. On a routine exam they discovered a rectal lump which turned out to be cancer. Because of their early intervention we were able to get an extra few years with my pup. No other vets had ever given him such a thorough exam! She takes great care of the animals, is always accommodating and kind, and is always very helpful in explaining costs, options and diagnosis. We have had only good experiences with them. A truly fantastic clinic. Our cat needed a complex and delicate surgery that required an exceptionally skilled team, and we genuinely feel we found the best veterinary team in DFW. How do you stop a cat from scratching the carpet? Redirect the scratching; don’t punish it. Scratching is natural: it keeps claws healthy, marks territory, and stretches muscles.

– Offer a better place to scratch. Put sturdy sisal posts or cardboard scratchers right next to your cat’s favorite carpet spots. Choose a post that’s stable and tall enough for a full stretch.
– Protect problem areas. Doorways, rugs, and carpet edges are common targets. Cover them with secure mats, carpet protectors, or double-sided tape.
– Reward good scratching habits. When your cat starts on the carpet, gently guide them to a scratcher. Reward them right away with treats or praise.

Is the scratching new, excessive, or not stopping even with consistent training? Talk to your local CityVet veterinarian! It can sometimes point to stress, anxiety, or another underlying issue.

Whether it’s a quick trip to the park or a weekend road trip, your dog deserves the same protection you do. A few simple steps can make every ride safer:

– Use a harness, never a collar. A collar puts all the force on your dog’s neck. A well-fitted harness spreads it across the chest.
– Choose a crash-tested restraint. Look for a harness or carrier certified by the Center for Pet Safety.
– Keep your dog in the back seat. Front airbags are designed for adult humans and can seriously injure a pet.

Which fall plants are toxic to dogs and cats?

Fall decor is fun, but some seasonal plants can make pets sick. Here are six to watch for:

– Pumpkins & gourds: Fresh, plain pumpkin is generally safe, but mold on a rotting pumpkin can be toxic.
– Oak leaves & acorns: They contain tannins that can cause vomiting and diarrhea. Acorns can also be a choking or blockage risk.
– Autumn crocus: Every part of the plant is toxic and can cause severe illness.
– Tulips: All parts are toxic, and the bulbs are the most dangerous.
– Chrysanthemums (mums): The flowers, leaves and stems can cause drooling, vomiting and skin irritation.
– Lilies: Every part of a true lily, including the pollen and vase water, can cause kidney failure in cats.

What should you do if your pet eats a toxic plant? Don’t wait for symptoms. Call your nearest CityVet or the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center at (888) 426-4435 right away, and bring a photo of the plant if you can.

Its honestly refreshing as a business owner myself to see other businesses being ran well and honestly, brought my dog jet to city vet here in mckinney to get teeth pulled and not only was everyone there nice and welcoming but the veterinarian who did the surgery was honest straightforward and easy to talk to, i never felt like i was being sold on anything or pushed in any direction other then what was pragmatic and reasonable for my dog, the procedure went very well considering post op jet recovered quickly and was right back to his old self, and having been back there after the operation i must say i truly feel like the ownership and people who work there actually care and aren’t just trying to swindle peoples money away, i rarely write reviews on google but in this instance i felt it was warranted because we live in a world where theres scammers and businesses who simply see people as a way to make money and unequivocally i can say city vet in McKinney is not like that at all, i cant speak for other city vet locations but this one is 10/10 imo.

I take my two cats here, and the staff are always super sweet, treat my animals lovingly, and they diagnose quickly. I appreciate them so much and everything they do for my kitties and I 🙂

Excellent service! My dog was nervous and the vet tech and doctor were amazing at giving my dog space and gaining trust. Price wasn’t outrageous! Highly recommend!

Excellent place, I love going there! I feel so comfortable knowing that they’re genuinely happy to help and so attentive. As a dog mom, it’s important to feel like they truly care about your dog’s well-being, and that’s exactly how I feel every time I go. The staff is incredible. Thank you! 🐾❤️

Super friendly staff, very caring and kind! I was able to get my cat in very quickly after noticing a cut and they took great care of him! He was feeling better over night, very happy to find this vet clinic!
