My dog had a series of unfortunate injuries earlier this year, but amidst the panic, I felt so supported by the staff here. We were referred to a great ophthalmologist by Dr. Trostel, and I even ended up having him medically boarded at the CityVet in Phillips Creek soon after. We wouldn’t have been able to get through those rough few weeks without their services and compassion.
Thank you for making a place that’s scary for most pets a safe space for my baby. We’ll continue coming back because no one takes care of us as well as CityVet Frisco!
Each of my cats have had two surgeries here (including spaying and neutering). The staff kept me updated on the procedures, after care, medications, follow up visits, etc.
One of my cats is sweet as can be and cooperates great (Bonnie). The other (Clyde), is very dramatic and very vocal with his displeasure of being away from home. He’s had to come in for a lot (neuter, UTI, anxiety/aggression, bloodwork, rectum issues, swallowed a hair tie), and I fully trust their expertise here. Dr. Fowler and all the vet techs I’ve interacted with always go above and beyond for making me, and the cats, feel comfortable and receive the best care possible. They always answer all of the questions I have and give me several options for how to proceed – being mindful of both care for the cats and financially.
Also a HUGE shoutout to Liz at the front!!! Clyde and I were previously frequent visitors for appointments, and buying food, and Liz always recognized us. Thank you for being such a friendly face and such a great help when I needed to schedule so many appointments!!
Thank you to everyone who’s treated my babies from this location – you have all been a joy, and always make me feel validated since these really are my kids right now!
Clyde enjoyed playing doctor in your chair, and trying to watch other patients pass by at today’s visit 🙂 see y’all next time!

I’m switching my other two animals to this City Vet. Now all three of my fur babies will be in such great hands!
Here’s a picture of baby Oliver!
The service was also quick and well organized, which I really appreciated. Andrea speaks Spanish and was a huge help throughout the process, making communication much easier.
Overall, a very positive experience—I would definitely recommend this place!
Update! I had to take in my Shih Tzu Tina and the team was amazing as always! I always feel heard and that my pets needs are taken care of. Love this office

Still wonderful cafe for my fur babies! We were worried Simba had a heart murmur and Dr. Johnston went above and beyond! She observed him for a day and he was so anxious. She then said we should try some gabapentin and bring him back. World of difference! Poor little guy was anxious! She saved us so much money by being patient and trying other avenues for us! So thankful for this loving team at City vet Lexington !
Dr Johnston and the team are great !

Update 626/26 Still the place to go for vet care…. they get better and better.
From the moment we arrived, the entire staff treated Benji and our family with compassion, kindness, and respect. They understood how difficult the situation was and gave us the time and space we needed to say our goodbyes. The veterinarian and staff explained everything clearly, answered our questions, and made an incredibly painful experience as peaceful as possible.
While losing a beloved pet is never easy, we are grateful for the care and empathy CityVet showed us during one of the hardest days our family has faced. Thank you for helping Benji cross the rainbow bridge with dignity and for treating him with such kindness in his final moments.

When a dog destroys everything, the cause usually falls into one of three categories: intense boredom (a need for activity), panic when left alone (a need for security, often seen as dog destructive behavior when left alone), or a natural instinct to chew or dig without a proper outlet. Identifying the driving need is the key to finding the right solution, especially if dog anxiety destructive behavior is part of the picture.

As a devoted pet parent, you know that keeping your furry best friend hydrated is a top priority, especially during the sweltering summer months or after a rigorous game of fetch. But sometimes, plain water just isn’t enough to replenish what your dog has lost. You might find yourself wondering, "can dogs have electrolytes?”

What makes a great veterinary experience? It`s more than medical expertise—it`s compassion!
When pets feel safe, and clients feel heard, it creates better care for everyone involved. At CityVet, we believe kindness is just as important as clinical excellence, and we`re grateful to hear that reflected in the words used to describe us.

Unlike us (and even dogs), cats are missing the taste receptor gene that allows them to detect sweet flavors. As true carnivores, their taste buds are designed to help them seek out protein instead.

My baby had a fever and wasn’t eating, which is super scary!! Dr.Shirley and her team you could tell are all concerned and passionate individuals at what they do.
I was offered something to drink upon entering and greeted warmly. I was lead to a room specifically just for cats. She actually checked my cat’s behavior before going right in and saying she needed all these tests done. My baby is very shy, but felt comfortable with the technician and Dr.
Dr. Shirley recommended only what she knew what would be effective, and suggested other home remedies. I was also sent home with a personal care plan.
I’m very satisfied with my experience with this amazing staff and would recommend them to anyone in need of personable pet care!!!!
When I called CityVet, I spoke with Dr. Shirley, and her kindness and genuine concern immediately put me at ease. She was able to get us in within an hour and treated my dog with so much care and compassion. During the visit, she took the time to thoroughly explain his bloodwork and walked me through every step of the exam in a way that was clear and reassuring.
Her warm, attentive approach made all the difference. She sent us home with medication and a clear follow-up plan, and for the first time all week, I feel a sense of relief and confidence that my dog is going to be okay. I’ll absolutely be making CityVet my regular veterinary clinic moving forward.
Arrival: Staff provided me with clear parking instructions and welcomed me and my dog as we entered with high energy!
Facilities: The facilities were spotless and the atmosphere were great to be in. They truly take pride in what they do.
Staff: Every single person had a smile on their face and walked me through my first vet visit and answered all my questions. Even just witnessing them tackle issues together was amazing and I knew that I could trust everyone present.
Cost: I always hear about expensive vet bills and although my issue was not the largest on the scale it still did not remotely break the bank and my dog was back to her normal self within 24 hours.
I can not thank you enough. You saved me so much time, energy and stress! This is now going to be my primary and I’m looking forward to going back soon.

What truly sets this clinic apart is how much they care. Twice now they’ve worked us in for emergencies instead of sending us to the emergency hospital. During my cat’s recent UTI, Dr. Amber Fritz saw us within an hour and was every bit as kind and caring.
The front desk staff is always welcoming, the technicians are wonderful, and everyone treats our pets like they’re important. We’re so thankful we found this clinic and highly recommend them.
Great Job, and especially to Meghan their groomer she always does an excellent job, and my boy never comes home stressed out. Thanks Meghan for taking such great care of our Bailey.
There are moments in life that change you forever, and losing our sweet Dixie was one of those moments. We have spent weeks trying to find the right words to thank all of you, and no matter how much we write, it still doesn’t feel like enough.
Walking through your doors was one of the hardest things we have ever done. We were terrified, heartbroken, confused, and desperately searching for answers. We had just come from another veterinary clinic where we left feeling unheard, confused, and without any real understanding of what was happening to our little girl. We repeatedly brought up concerns about her breath, her condition, and how sick she seemed, yet we left feeling like we had more questions than answers. It was an experience that left us feeling helpless.
Then we walked into CityVet.
Before we even had a chance to explain everything, your veterinarian noticed the ammonia smell on Dixie’s breath immediately. Within a short time, a simple blood test gave us the answers we had been desperately searching for. They were devastating answers, but they were honest answers. You didn’t leave us wondering. You didn’t leave us confused. You explained everything with kindness, compassion, patience, and respect.
Nothing could have prepared us for hearing that our little girl was in severe kidney failure.
Our hearts shattered.
Yet even in the middle of the worst day of our lives, every single person at CityVet treated us with an unbelievable amount of compassion.
You didn’t just care for Dixie.
You cared for us.
You sat with us.
You answered every question without making us feel rushed.
You held our hands while our world was falling apart.
You comforted us when we couldn’t comfort ourselves.
You gave us hugs.
You cried with us.
You made one of the most painful decisions a family can ever make feel surrounded by dignity, love, and kindness instead of fear.
When it came time to say goodbye, you gave us privacy. You gave us time. You never made us feel like we were just another appointment on the schedule. You made us feel like Dixie mattered. Like our family mattered.
I’ll never forget holding her paw and telling her that my grandpa was waiting for her. That moment will stay with me for the rest of my life. Knowing she left this world surrounded by love instead of fear gives me more comfort than I can ever put into words.
And then your compassion continued even after she was gone.
The handwritten sympathy card.
The thoughtful messages.
The kindness you showed when discussing cremation.
The care you took with every single detail.
Even helping us with testing so we didn’t spend allot on a gazillion tests that were not needed and only focusing on the ones that were most important because you knew we were hurting spoke volumes about the kind of people you are. It showed us that compassion wasn’t just something you talked about—it was something you lived.
In a profession that is often emotionally exhausting, every single one of you reminded us why veterinary medicine is so much more than medicine.
It is humanity.
It is compassion.
It is love.
Although losing Dixie has been one of the greatest heartbreaks of our lives, we will forever be grateful that her final moments were spent in your care and not somewhere else.
You gave her dignity.
You gave her peace.
You gave our family comfort when we thought none could possibly exist.
No amount of thank-yous will ever feel sufficient.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for loving our sweet Dixie.
Thank you for treating her like she mattered.
Thank you for treating us like family.
Thank you for reminding us that there are still people whose hearts are every bit as big as their medical knowledge.
You didn’t just care for our dog.
You helped carry us through the darkest day of our lives.
We will never forget that.
With endless gratitude,
Jay & Family
Forever grateful for the love you showed our sweet Dixie. ❤️

I have fortunately/unfortunately spent a lot of time here and had many visits in the last few months for my Sr. Dog. I couldn’t be happier with each and every experience.
One particular evening my dog experienced sudden loss of mobility in one leg, even though it all happened within minutes of close of business and I arrived after close, Dr. Lettsome and the staff still continued to provide treatment and support. Saving quality of life for my dog and my family. This is THE vet you want to have for your pets!

The clinic itself is very nice, and the Saturday hours are super convenient. Every member of staff is so kind. The receptionists are very warm and welcoming, and they’ve been able to squeeze me in the day of for some serious problems. We’ve been seen by Penelope almost every time, and she is awesome! I can tell she really cares. She’s given me great tips on administering liquid medicine, and she is so sweet with my kitty.
I’ve been lucky to see Dr. Heidi, Dr. Cat, and (I think) Dr. Cannata. All the doctors are so great and knowledgeable! I’ve gone into City Vet so worried for my cat, and every vet I’ve seen has been able to diagnose him, thoroughly explain his treatment, and answer all of my questions. I cannot express how reassuring it is to have a vet staff who genuinely cares about my pet’s wellbeing. I’ve shed a few tears here, but I literally always leave confident knowing that my cat has been well taken care of and assured that his treatment will put him on the right track.
On top of them being so kind, having such short wait times, and excellent quality of care, their prices are very reasonable! I made an appointment to have my cat’s surgery site examined, and they only charged me for a follow-up appointment instead of a new appointment, even though they did not do the surgery (it was the shelter). It’s things like these that make me confident they do not overcharge.
Going to this place is like hitting the jackpot, and I’m so thankful for everything they’ve done for Percy 🩷
