Also offer payment plans. The vet here is very sweet and truly loves her patients! Will be going here from now on.
She is incredibly thorough, and her attention to detail is amazing. What impresses me most is the way she approaches complicated problems. She really thinks things through, looks at the whole picture, and doesn’t just jump to the easiest answer.
She’s also very good at explaining complex and difficult medical issues in a way that I can actually understand, which makes a huge difference when you’re dealing with something this stressful.
CityVet has also been very upfront and transparent about pricing, which I really appreciate.

– Keep your dog in the back seat. Front airbags are designed for adult humans and can seriously injure a pet.

Which fall plants are toxic to dogs and cats?
Fall decor is fun, but some seasonal plants can make pets sick. Here are six to watch for:
– Pumpkins & gourds: Fresh, plain pumpkin is generally safe, but mold on a rotting pumpkin can be toxic.
– Oak leaves & acorns: They contain tannins that can cause vomiting and diarrhea. Acorns can also be a choking or blockage risk.
– Autumn crocus: Every part of the plant is toxic and can cause severe illness.
– Tulips: All parts are toxic, and the bulbs are the most dangerous.
– Chrysanthemums (mums): The flowers, leaves and stems can cause drooling, vomiting and skin irritation.
– Lilies: Every part of a true lily, including the pollen and vase water, can cause kidney failure in cats.
What should you do if your pet eats a toxic plant? Don’t wait for symptoms. Call your nearest CityVet or the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center at (888) 426-4435 right away, and bring a photo of the plant if you can.

Homemade pumpkin treats are a dog-safe alternative to Halloween candy. Just use 100% pure pumpkin with no sugar or spices, not pumpkin pie filling.
Mix 1 cup pumpkin, 2 eggs and 2½ cups oat flour. Then roll, cut and bake at 350°F for 20–30 minutes. Keep treats under 10% of your dog’s daily calories.

At this point, the team has officially cared for all of our fur babies, which is saying something because we have 6 cats & 2 dogs! Every single one of them has been treated with so much patience & kindness.
Harvey has now had two more of their free “happy visits” to help with his anxiety around new people. The difference has been amazing. He’s completely comfortable going to the vet now, loves everyone there, & has definitely figured out that visiting means lots of yummy treats & pets!
Since my last review, John has also been in for his yearly appointment, & both of our dogs, Harvey & Jack, have had their yearly appointments as well. Genevieve & her kittens were all seen together, & Genevieve came back again today for a follow-up.
Genevieve has been struggling with diarrhea & going outside of the litter box from discomfort, along with losing weight & more fur than usual after nursing her kittens. They have taken all of my concerns seriously & put together a full plan to help get her healthy & feeling like herself again. I never feel rushed or like I’m asking too many questions, which means so much when you have this many animals to worry about.
Having 6 cats & 2 dogs is a LOT for one household, but they genuinely seem excited to meet & care for every single one of them. At this point I’m there just about every week for care for someone. It’s such a good feeling knowing we have a vet office where our pets are comfortable, loved, & so well cared for.
Still very happily giving them 5 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Yes, I’m one of those dog moms who is very particular and anxious about how my baby is handled, so finding a vet I genuinely felt comfortable with was extremely important to me. I found this place because I have a GSD who is cryptorchid, and I wanted the absolute BEST veterinarian for him and his procedure.
The lobby is absolutely gorgeous, and to the right at the entrance they have a seasonal photo backdrop, along with a cute dog accessory booth with really nicely priced items. The patient rooms are also surprisingly spacious compared to what I’m used to seeing at other veterinary offices.
One thing I really appreciated is that you can call or text them with any questions. They even have an app! I was actually texting with Dr. Lipp the day before my appointment, which immediately made me feel more comfortable. She is an absolutely delightful and whimsical veterinarian, and she had already taken the time to learn a little bit about Mousse before even meeting him.
When we arrived for the appointment, she was already greeting Mousse before she had even fully opened the door 😂. She even brought out a tiny plastic cup and a can of whipped cream for him. She was doing some serious hardcore bribing, and it WORKED 😂. She absolutely won Mousse over!
I brought Mousse in for his consultation regarding his special-circumstance surgery, and Dr. Lipp took the time to break everything down for me and explain the procedure thoroughly. She answered my questions and made sure I understood what to expect. As an anxious dog mom, I left feeling completely at ease knowing that she would be the veterinarian I’d be leaving my furry son with on his surgery day.
I was also pleasantly surprised by the pricing. Everything was very reasonable and decently below the standard pricing for veterinary care, and I was happy to see that they offer additional preventative care packages as well. There was one in particular that I thought was definitely worth considering, I attached a photo of it.
I will absolutely, without hesitation, be making Dr. Lipp Mousse’s new primary veterinarian. I’m so happy I found this place, and I feel confident knowing Mousse will be in such caring hands!
Kobe is our 16-year-old male Shih Tzu, so at his age, any sudden change in his health is scary. We originally brought him in because he had gotten very sick with stomach issues. He had diarrhea, bloody stool, wasn’t eating like himself, and his energy had completely changed.
From the beginning, Dr. Heather was incredibly sweet, patient, and understanding. She took our concerns seriously, explained everything in a way we could understand, and gave us a clear plan for his medications, food, hydration, and recovery. With her treatment and guidance, his stomach issues improved tremendously. The diarrhea and bloody stool resolved, his appetite came back, and we finally started seeing our Kobe again.
Then, just when we thought we were getting past everything, Kobe suddenly developed a completely different problem. He started coughing, breathing really fast, making strange grunting sounds, and almost seemed like he was trying to catch his breath. Picking him up would sometimes trigger another episode. It was honestly terrifying, especially with him being 16.
When we brought him back, Dr. Heather took action immediately. She evaluated him and had chest X-rays done, which showed fluid in his lung and an enlarged heart pressing against his airway. We learned that he was experiencing congestive heart failure related to mitral valve disease.
Hearing “congestive heart failure” about your 16-year-old dog is obviously scary, but I will always be grateful for how Dr. Heather handled that day. She immediately started treatment to help remove the fluid and put Kobe on the heart medications he needed. She explained what was happening, what each medication was for, and what we needed to watch for at home.
Thankfully, Kobe responded incredibly well. His breathing improved so much, the coughing improved, his appetite came back, and little by little so did his personality. He’s drinking water on his own, wagging his tail, enjoying his little walks, stopping to smell things again, and just being Kobe. Seeing him comfortable and happy again after everything he went through means more to us than I can explain.
The entire staff at CityVet Lake Nona has also been amazing. Everyone we’ve spoken to has been sweet, patient, and communicative. Whenever we’ve had questions during their opening hours, they’ve always done their best to help us and communicate with Dr. Heather when needed.
I’ve had animals for around 20 years and have dealt with plenty of veterinarians, and Dr. Heather genuinely stands out to me. She took action when Kobe needed it most, and the care she and the staff have given him throughout this entire experience has meant so much to our family.
We know Kobe is 16 and that his heart condition will require lifelong care, but right now he’s comfortable, eating, drinking, wagging his tail, enjoying his walks, and being himself again. After everything that happened, that’s all we could ask for.
